BENEFITS OF USING SPACERS... To achieve ultimate sporty look and better handling. invest in a set of wheel spacers to fill out your wheel arches. Spacers move the wheel out from the hub effectively widening the stance of the vehicle. This simple modification increases lateral stability, handling performance, and safety, and the perceived greater look of your car. Note the spacers should not be over-wide so as to allow tyres to rub on bodywork, there are obvious limits! Overdoing the width could also have adverse effect on the life of your wheel-bearings. We cannot be held responsible in this respect. Spacers are supplied with correct length extended wheelbolts, i.e. the standard bolts are 25mm, so for 15mm spacers the bolts supplied will be 40mm. For all widths 25mm and over, the spacers are of a different design, having 6 bored holes and in this case different bolts are supplied, which are used to first bolt the spacer to the hub, then you use your original wheelbolts to bolt the wheel to the spacer. We can supply some information from the TUV in Germany as to what is there regarded as maximum safe widths for the spacers; whereas the TUV recommendations are not in any way binding in other countries, they should give you an idea how wide you can go. Roadsters fitted with the Brabus wheels are most definitely not going to work with 25mm spacers. |
